Get involved! There are a number of ways you can make a difference in your community. At New Vision, we are always open to new mission suggestions. We'll help you reach out.

Here are some of the concrete ministries in our local community that members and friends of New Vision have suggested. By adopting these mission programs, our mission commitment becomes real. There is always room for you to offer your gifts and skills in support of any or all of these efforts. Because New Vision is a new church, you can get in on the ground floor and help shape these ministries.

Drug and Alcohol -- Addiction and Recovery Ministry
We are seeking people to help us provide an educational program for our members as well as the wider community. We will engage a multitude of community resources to provide help while we engage in spiritual nurture and support.

Single Parent Ministry
We are seeking people to help us provide support and nurture for single mothers and fathers. The ministry may include “parent’s day out,” educational programs in parenting skills, household management, budgeting, etc.

Community Forums
We will invite speakers and programs on a number of community issues, such as education, human rights, poverty, GLBT issues, faith and politics, environmental stewardship.

Safe Youth Ministry
We are seeking ways to provide youth with a safe environment where they can confront destructive realities in their schools, such as racism, bullying, gay bashing, sexual identity, teen pregnancy, etc. Perhaps you can help us bring this ministry together.
Community Garden.
We are working to provide a space and tools for people to grow their own vegetables in an environmentally responsible way. We hope to build community as well as environmental awareness in this ministry.

Marriage and Holy Unions
If you are looking for a place to be married or have a holy union service, give us a call. We celebrate and affirm the rights of all persons to enter into a covenant of love and commitment regardless of gender or sexual identity.

Community Harvest
Every other month, we collect groceries that are delivered to those most in need through Community Harvest.

5 CHAPS
We also collect personal hygiene items for distribution to those living with HIV/Aids in Stark, Carroll and Tuscarawas counties.

United Church of Christ
We are also involved in the mission and ministries of the larger United Church of Christ. Several of our members serve on various mission and outreach boards and committees of the church. We have gone to New Orleans and Ghana on mission trips. New Vision tithes of member donations and provides four opportunities for members to contribute to church development, justice advocacy, disaster relief, new church starts and other missions of the church.
