If you do, you will find gracious hospitality and a warm welcome - “no matter who you are, and no matter where you are on life’s journey.” Our vision statement says a lot about who we are in fewer than a dozen words:

 

 

God is Still Speaking!

Our faith assumes that God continues to reveal more and more about spiritual truth and human capacity for love and justice. God did not stop sharing when the Christian canon was closed. Our faith may be 2000 years old, but our thinking is not! Every Sunday, we gather for worship that is spiritually grounded, intellectually challenging, and liturgically inspiring.

We find the extravagant grace of a radically hospitable God each week in the sacrament of Holy Communion. We regularly come together to study and learn from one another through in depth Bible Study, theological discussion groups and spiritual exploration.

Our adult studies are interactive and built upon dialogue where everyone learns and everyone contributes. We find our faith home within the United Church of Christ and those around the world who call themselves Progressive Christians.

God called New Vision into being in order to provide a safe space for those who feel rejected by church and society. We practice extravagant hospitality by extending a warm welcome to everyone.

Our welcome especially extends to those who have been marginalized by society: the disabled, people of color, the poor, single parents, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered. We are a multiethnic congregation of people who are gay and straight, married and single, wealthy and poor. We come from a dozen different faith traditions across the spectrum of Christianity. Our diversity is what makes New Vision a rich and wonderful place to search for God’s affirming acceptance in your life. We are all on a spiritual journey and welcome all whom God invites to join us.

 

At New Vision, we are keenly aware that God not only calls us together to build a radically inclusive community, but God also sends us out into our community and world to continue Christ’s ministry of healing the sick and proclaiming the Kingdom of God. For us that translates into a deep commitment to advocate for peace, justice and environmental stewardship.

As a Just Peace congregation of the United Church of Christ, we promote justice and work to alleviate the poverty, pain, suffering and alienation that so often leads to violence. Without justice there can be no peace. We see ourselves as stewards of God’s Creation.

Drawing from the Genesis stories of creation and the continuing revelation of God, we understand that God places us in this “garden” in order to tend and care for it -- all of it, the rocks and minerals of the earth, the flowing waters and deep blue oceans, the live giving air and the protective ozone, the fruits, vegetables and grains of the plant world, the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, the four, two and many legged creatures of the animal world.
